An angioma is classified as a benign growth of blood vessels under the skin. There are two types of angiomas:
• Cherry angioma: caused by age
• Spider angioma: caused by injury, sun exposure and liver disease
The exact cause of angioma’s are not known but genetics and environmental factors may play a role. Cherry angiomas are believed to be caused by age.
