Stephen W. Doggett, MD

Dr. Stephen W. Doggett obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with High Honors in Biochemical and Neural Sciences from the University of Florida. He earned his MD at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Doggett’s Radiation Oncology Residency training was completed at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco and his Fellowship in Brachytherapy was completed at the City of Hope National Medical Center. He was awarded Fellow of the American College of Radiology in 2017. Dr. Doggett has privately practiced Radiation Oncology and Brachytherapy in California for the past 31 years. He has introduced or pioneered several brachytherapy techniques, including intraoperatively treatment planned prostate brachytherapy, CT guided permanent seed brachytherapy and permanent seed breast implant therapy. He has provided professional brachytherapy services through Aegis Oncology at multiple sites in the United States since 2014. Dr. Doggett’s work in prostate cancer, permanent seed brachytherapy and electronic brachytherapy has been extensively published. He co-authored a pivotal study documenting the equivalency of electronic brachytherapy to Mohs micrographic surgery published in 2017 (Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy 2017; 9, 4: 338-344). This study received the “Best of ASTRO 2017” award at the annual meeting of the American Society of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Doggett has done more non-invasive skin cancer therapies with eBx than anyone in the world and that has worked in partnership with over 100 dermatologists to provide this non-invasive therapeutic option. He has given more than 100 presentations nationally and over 20 presentations internationally during the course of his career.
