Ms. Gagan Takhar is a recent graduate from Touro University. She has a dual degree; Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, and Master of Public Health. As a teen, Ms. Takhar dealt with her own skin issues and was a regular at the Dermatology office, it was during this time that her interest in dermatology peaked and she knew she wanted to help others with the same concerns. As an undergraduate, she attended UC Davis, where she earned a B.S. in Psychobiology, shadowed her local Dermatology clinic, and volunteered at one of the UC Davis student-run clinics. Before Physician Assistant school, she worked as a mental health technician and substitute teacher, where she learned the importance of empathy and communication.
During her clinical training at Touro University, Ms. Takhar was able to obtain hands-on training in Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, and Emergency Medicine by performing wound closures, administering anesthetic injections along with Botox and fillers, sterilizing wounds, performing skin exams, identifying and removing skin lesions, diagnosing rashes, and working with various lasers. During this time, her passion for medical and aesthetic dermatology was solidified. After graduating from Touro University, she sharpened her skills in cosmetics by working as an aesthetic Physician Assistant, performing various procedures such as Botox, laser facials, and tattoo removal. Ms. Takhar is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In her spare time, she enjoys working out and spending time with friends and family, especially her three nieces. A lifelong resident of Northern California, Ms. Takhar is happy to bring her skills to the people of Stockton and Manteca.
