Dr. Robert Leposavic earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in December 1987, graduating Summa Cum Laude from University of California at Berkeley. He then attended the University of Nevada School of Medicine to obtain his Medical Degree. His internal medicine residency was completed at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, and his dermatology residency was completed at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Before becoming a dermatologist, Dr. Leposavic was a Chemical Engineer at IBM in San Jose, California for four years. There he developed thin film magnetic heads and received four Outstanding Achievement awards. He began practicing dermatology in 2000 in Topeka, Kansas and has since been practicing in California and Nevada. Dr. Leposavic practiced dermatology for sixteen years at the Sansum Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic in Santa Barbara, California. In 2005, he became a partner of Desert Dermatology in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently, Dr. Leposavic practices dermatology at LUX Dermatology in Santa Barbara, California, as well as in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In addition to practicing dermatology, Dr. Leposavic has given multiple lectures on a variety of topics, such as mast cells and Basophil, the molecular mechanisms of cell signaling and dermatology. Dr. Leposavic has given two presentations, one on Neurokinin A and vasopressin alter the relationship between cytosolic Ca2+
concentration and contraction in colonic smooth muscle. The other presentation was on Reactive elastosis perforans serpiginosa responsive to isotretinoin. He was also a Principle Investigator for the Enbrel EASE Study from 2004 to 2005. Dr. Leposavic is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society and Santa Barbara Medical Society.
