Ryan Schoneboom, PA-C, is a nationally certified Physician Assistant dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered dermatologic care. Originally from Iowa, Ryan earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health from Iowa State University, where he also worked as a research assistant and microbiology tutor. His early academic experience helped build a strong foundation in human physiology, scientific research, and evidence-based medicine.
Before entering clinical medicine, Ryan spent several years working in competitive athletics and human performance. He interned as a strength and conditioning coach with the University of California, Berkeley’s Olympic sports teams and the University of Virginia Cavaliers football program, where he trained high-level NCAA athletes, future professional athletes, and Olympians. This experience strengthened his understanding of discipline, performance, and the importance of mentorship.
Ryan later transitioned into healthcare, working in the emergency department and as a phlebotomist. These roles gave him valuable hands-on experience in acute patient care and reinforced his passion for helping patients feel supported during difficult moments.
He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University and is nationally certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). During his training, Ryan discovered a passion for dermatology and has been deeply interested in the field ever since.
Ryan combines his background in science, athletics, and clinical medicine to deliver thoughtful, personalized care. He believes in building strong relationships with patients and guiding them toward healthier skin and greater peace of mind.
