The Aerolase laser uses micropulse technology to deliver heat energy to the deep layers of your skin. The laser’s heat shrinks the proteins in your skin, causing an immediate tightening and lifting effect.
The Aerolase laser also triggers the production of collagen and elastin. These two structural proteins are found in your dermal layer — the thick, middle layer — of skin and provide your skin’s youthful strength and elasticity.
The production of these proteins decreases as you get older, which is one of the things that causes your skin to loosen and sag.
By activating collagen and elastin production, the skin tightening treatments at LUX Dermatology improve the tone, strength, and look of your skin.

During your skin tightening session, your skin care expert places the laser device over your skin to deliver the laser energy. You can resume your usual activities after your skin tightening treatments at LUX Dermatology. You might notice some skin redness, but these side effects get better quickly.
Though you might notice improvements in your skin immediately after your skin tightening treatment, it takes time for your skin to rebuild collagen and elastin. You’ll continue to see improvements in the look and tone of your skin over several weeks following your session.
With the Aerolase laser, you may only need one treatment. However, the team could suggest a series of sessions to get the best results.
